Characteristics:
light yellowish brown heartwood
distinct from the pale brown
sapwood, has an accentuated
fibrous aspect at the tangential
figure due to prominence
of axial parenchyma, fibres
and vascular lines, interlocked
grain, coarse texture , lacking
lustre, no distinctive odour.
A few applications:
easy to work, civil
construction, furniture
has good finishing
and is very resistant.
Density: medium density
wood, at 13% humidity content 785 Kg/m3,
when green 1,210 Kg/m3, dry very rapidly.
